Soul Kitchen

I don't know how many of you know about the Soul Kitchen, it's totally worth knowing about. I came across with this photo meme on Facebook and I just can't get over it. Any act of kindness and selflessness always get to me and part of me wants to live to tell these kinds of stories. Isn't it inspiring?

The Soul Kitchen is located in Red Bank, New Jersey. It is a community restaurant with no prices on the menu; customers donate to pay for their meal. If you are unable to donate you may do volunteer to work in exchange for your family’s meal.

 Great idea, and an even better place to eat. First off, it was welcoming (not sure when I last felt truly welcomed at a restaurant). Everyone staffing the place wanted to be there. There was a palpable sense of community and cooperation. Family friendly. The food was just what I would want when eating out and never seem to come across: simple, reasonable portions, tasty combinations, and far healthier than the average eatery. There were two appetizers: bean soup or an actually fresh and delicious salad. There were at least 3 entrees on the menu plus a kids meal and 3 specials. Fish, meat, pasta, and vegetarian options.
